整个设计十分注重场地中安静氛围的创造以及景观细节上的处理问题，让自然风景这一主题在整个设计中体现的更加明显。在住宅的建造过程中，设计师们十分注重对场地上原有树木以及其他自然元素的保护，希望这些绿色植被能够继续在荫蔽湿润的环境中健康生长。场地中各种人造景观的颜色选取主要是为了配合太阳光线形成的自然光与影，带给人们悠闲自在的感觉，这也是设计团队的最终目标。

The landscape design of the Shadywood residence was inspired by the shady nature of the property. The light and shadows that play through and around the trees are as much a feature to be considered in the design as is the creek that wraps around the back boundary of the property. The landscape architect unveils the beauty of the property in order to create a visible and physical connection between the house and the property.

The quiet and subtle aspects of the design enhance the architecture and natural features rather than overwhelm them. Preservation of trees was important as well as using natural materials and planting that grow natively in shady and wet conditions. The color palette was selected to reflect the shadow and light the sun creates as it finds an opening in the tree canopy.
