该项目场地位于一片多石的平原地区，周边长满了郁葱的大树，风景优美，是大自然鬼斧神工的结果。设计团队打算在这样的背景下新建一个住宅。由于场地距离周边一个历史保护区很近，设计团队在建造期间充分保护了那片地区不受到破坏，同时保护房主的隐私，创造一幅山水田园的住宅画面。通往住宅的是一条曲折的道路，往住宅去的方向都是下坡路，周边是天然的岩石。住宅内包括庭院，平台和花园，花园的呈几何结构，各个领域的景观之间有明显的过渡，与周边的岩石形成对比，同时也是整个住宅最吸引人的地方。

This landscape carves intriguing spaces from the rocky terrain and woods that surround a new house designed in a contemporary style. Because the property abuts a historic district, we gave careful consideration to screening, both to protect the owners’ privacy and to create a sense that the house was nestled into a wooded ledge. A driveway winds through the rolling terrain descending to the house, which sits on one of a stepped series of stone-framed terraces. We defined courtyards, terraces, and gardens with a crisp geometry that relates to the architecture and contrasts with the rough outcrops of ledge that give the land its unique character.
