兰特广场位于新港入口处，是海港城市不莱梅哈芬的西大门。使由于其位于堤坝之前的特殊位置，其利用也相比其他广场有所不同:夏天人们到访的比较多,这里是船只的港湾，也是临时性项目活动的暂用地。冬季则常常被风暴潮水淹没。

项目的设计和材料考虑了多种变量条件。定制的台式洪水长椅上有胶水复合木材，保证了长期暴露在外不会受到太大影响。兰特广场可以从三个不同的角度发现并探索：或从附近的观景平台,或通过数字媒体如谷歌地球城市探索一个新的维度。

Willy-Brandt-Platz is situated on the lock entrance to the new harbor and marks the western gate to the city of Bremerhaven. The intensity of use in the space is very different due to it being located in front of the dyke: in summer people frequently walk there, it serves as a ferry port for excursion boats and as a temporary venue for festivals. In the winter months it is flooded by storm tides for periods of time.

The design and specified materials take these variable conditions into consideration. A bespoke new bench type named ‘flood’ bench featuring glue laminated timber on massive foundations will withstand exposure to the elements. A shoal of familiar North Sea fish ‘swims’ in a depression in the tarmac in the centre of the square. The space can be discovered and explored from three different perspectives; either Willy-Brandt-Platz, or from a nearby viewing platform and via digital media such as Google Earth – a new dimension for urban exploration.
