TRAVEL JOURNAL: ON THE STREETS OF AMSTERDAM

Oh, I miss travelling so!... This is a series of photos I took during a brief stay I had in Amsterdam in 2019. Pre-pandemic times, they almost seem like a dream.

2019 was also a very intense year for me in terms of

travelling

. I visited 6 countries on two continents and many of their cities for almost half of the year. And in 2020 it all stopped. It was good to spend some time at home as well, but I don't think I shook the travel bug just yet.

However, all that travelling does come at a cost. I calculated my carbon footprint for that year and it was really scary, most of it being due to the Trans-Atlantic flights. Perhaps a time out was in order. Nevertheless, I close my eyes and see flashes of all the wonderful places I have seen and think of all of those still waiting to be seen, experienced and captured. 

I guess it's a desire for more that drives all of us to keep going and keep searching. We just need to figure out how to pursue it without letting it consume us...
