海边的诗意 lace 装置

It was on a hot day at the beach, that an idea for this lace installations came to my mind. It lasted all week, withstanding even a thunderstorm. When it was time for me to leave, the lace was still intact.

In the following years, I made several dozen similar, fragile structures around the world.

Usually it's pure visual poetry, but I also like to say that my installations are a symbol of human relationships, in all their complexity.

I don't weave the lace I use, it would take too long.

Wherever I am, I try to find local lace makers and local lace patterns that I then weave in the installation. The material I use, the elastic band, is made of natural rubber.

When exposed to the sun

, after a few weeks

it stiffens

and breaks. That is why my installations are only temporary, they age naturally, like plants, flowers or spider webs...
