1. HÔTEL L'ESQUISSE
Giros et Coutellier
The first five-star hotel in Colmar, France, L'Esquisse Hôtel & Spa (7; Hotel) draws its interior inspiration from 19th-century sculptor Augustes Bartholdi, whose most well-known work is the Statue of Liberty. Parisian agency Giros & Coutellier turned the 3,200-sq-m space into an artistic haven that combines bespoke features, neutral materials and iconic design pieces. 'There is a beautiful subdued abundance everywhere you look,' says Carbon Studio founder Pieter Kool. 'I like this understated classiness; it's clear the designers could have easily opted for the more Instagrammable colour and material clashes you see everywhere nowadays, but decided to honour the nature of this hotel.'

2. PROGENIUS PARK
Greater Dog Architects
Progenius Park is a retail destination in Ningbo that provides clients with personalized outfit planning. Greater Dog Architects set out to create a 'public' spatial language, one that coheres with a nearby park. The team incorporated daily fitness equipment and public facilities into the layout, fostering an experiential consumer journey. People are led through the space with the help of a map at the entry, which guides one through a tap station, leisure square, sketch gallery, magic mirror fitting area, display area and a VIP room. The sleek, modern interior is currently in the running for the Material category, with a score of 6.11.

3. STILL
Studio Corkinho
The Still room concept (6.47; Health Club) was born from a desire to 'curate stillness' and bring a higher meaning back into spaces. Studio Corkinho founder Cédric Etienne transformed a 40-sq-m interior within a classified heritage building in Antwerp to bring the idea to life, rendering a 'contemporary monastic cell' finished with raw materials. Etienne sees Still rooms as a way to make use of reclaimed buildings in urban and rural settings alike. The room devotes itself to the understanding of the dynamics of silence and how to reconnect with inner balance,' explains Etienne.

4. FERRARI FLAGSHIP MARANELLO
Sybarite
Setting out to sell more than sports cars, Ferrari tapped Sybarite to create a fashion retail environment at its Italian HQ in Maranello (5.8; Material). Sybarite was invited to conceptualize and design a retail environment that would showcase the brand's new direction for fashion, while accommodating other retail products and collaborations. The designers selected a reduced palette of core materials: terracotta, glass and clay bricks, whose configuration will be customized for each new Ferrari store. A Ferrari red ribbon of glass connects the store's entire layout.

5. CAFE BIDAM - TRADITIONAL KOREAN STYLE HOUSE
DesignToken
Café Bidam has been submitted in the categories of Material (5.39), Light (5.42), Single-Brand Store (5.35), and Entertainment Venue (5.32). The DesignToken-developed space, located in Seoul, revitalizes a traditional Korean-style house as a performance venue and café. Inspired by the Korean Royal Orchestra, the project boasts a courtyard stage built with Pocheon stone. DesignToken aimed to tap into Korean heritage and pride, weaving together contemporary and historic architectural features. 'It is intended to provide a space where visitors can feel Korean emotion through the harmony of traditional and modern architecture,' says the team.
