旧金山“人民的餐厅”

We’re back with another killer project by our San Francisco-based friends at Jessica Helgerson Interior Design (JHID). After introducing their work via this amazing office in Portland, followed by this stunning mid-century house remodel, it’s fair to say these guys know how to nail any type of brief – from commercial, residential to hospitality. And we love that!

This project involved a conversion of an abandoned building in San Francisco’s Nob Hill neighbourhood into a restaurant. In addition to the interior, JHID’s scope included designing a new timber store-front façade. The restaurant serves Neapolitan-style wood fired pizzas, with the oven playing the central focus of the space. The custom tile glaze, specially commissioned for the bar, adds an element of freshness and vibrancy, while remaining deeply rooted in history and classicism.

The name of the restaurant, Del Popolo, means ‘of the people’. “From that name came our concept of decorating the interior walls with portraits of people that we sourced from all over the world”, explains the team. Further to this, long central tables allow for a communal ‘of the people’ dining experience. Ticks all round.
