The villa conforms to the feel of the landscape, rich in nature with leaves and smells crushed by light. Perched on a wooded hill, inhabited limestone spurs emerge; Floating. The power of these houses comes from an exhilarating confrontation with this powerful and sensitive nature. From Villa Rotonda, they plotted geometry and basic directions.
From the material, soft and fresh minerals of Provence, they show their strength. From the ground, concrete appears like natural rock in the landscape of thousands of endemic plants. In addition to an inhabited place, the villa also tells the story of territory, geography and tradition -- Provence; Jonos drought, inaccessible, cautious and generous.
From simplicity, they bring the rusticity of an 18th century Bassted, nestled in the bushes. Evidence of the relationship between architecture and the body and climate. The simple and obvious architectural wisdom of the oldest buildings.
The project proposes three overlapping relationships with territory. The house on the floor, illuminated by skylights, dark, dug into the thick floor. The landscaped house consists of a large frame, initiated by the structure, that removes horizontal restrictions between inside and outside. Centered on a patio, the Sky House is vertically connected like a Roman villa, creating a constantly changing relationship with clouds, wind and rain.
The work of matter adds to our relationship with the atmosphere and the passage of time. Moss, wear and decay, therefore, are part of this tectonic force that connects man to his territory, reminiscent of the millennia-old rocks of Mount SAN Victoire, immortalized by the painters sensitive eye.
