Madrid's Forte Forte fashion boutique is full of symmetrical details, with pale geometric embossed walls framed by creative duo Giada Forte and Robert Vattilana. Madrid's Forte Forte store is located in a corner of Salamanca, a charming area known for its tree-lined boulevards of luxury fashion boutiques and upscale restaurants. Forte Forte designed lavish interiors for their stores in London, Milan, Tokyo and Paris, but they wanted the new Madrid store to have a more restrained aesthetic and still offer moments of "poetic and feminine refinement."
At this point you are filled with emotional energy, forming poles of offset between male and female, curve and Angle, geometry and emotion. A recognisable grammar of surfaces, treatments, colours that unify the different Spaces is born out of the creative dialogue between Forte and Vattilana, but the narrative takes on a different scale and tone.
An off-white embossed wall inside the store, featuring a haphazard array of raised geometric shapes, runs through one side of the Forte Forte ground level. A structural column in the store was given a similar geometry. It extends upwards through a circular opening in the ceiling that has been backlit to appear as if natural light is coming in from outside.
At the center of the store is a low, semicircular bench that sits on a mottled pink carpet. The floor below is inlaid with dislocated cut grooves and ordinary stone, as well as small triangles made of emerald Iranian marble. The same texture of marble was also used to make store doorknobs and circular service desks. Directly above the counter, thin brass stems are loosely arranged in a grid, forming a hanging sculpture that supports a handful of upturned glass balls. A curving carmine pink staircase leads to the store's second floor. A wide platform located between the two steps of the staircase serves as an additional display area.
