In the center of Tokyo’s fashion-focused Shibuya neighborhood, Trunk Hotel offers a truly “made in Japan” experience that draws from both the tradition and the trend of Tokyo. Throughout the 15-room hotel, contrasts create a conceptual dialogue. Think Japanese-Western fusion cuisine at the Trunk Kitchen restaurant that includes a chef’s table, a terrace, and a private dining room, and skewered “Shibuya soul food” at the Trunk Kushi stand, as well as Hojicha tea, coffee from the neighborhood, sake, shochu, and signature cocktails. Also on-property is a lifestyle store offering Tokyo-made keepsakes, locally sourced honey and craft beer, and more. Event spaces cater to functions of up to 250 and include four banquet halls, an exhibition space, a lounge, and a clean-lined wood and glass chapel on the rooftop, while the concierge organizes everything from tours of Tsukiji fish market to photography hikes up Mount Fuji and simply “hanging out with Sumo wrestlers”. Upcycled materials meet Japanese craftsmanship throughout the property, while artworks from local talents sit side-by-side with international names—all inside a geometric exterior of gray stone and tumbling greenery.

The 15 rooms and suites range from 20 to 140 square meters, and all play host to a bathtub apart from the Standard Room and the Standard Plus Balcony room—both at 20 square meters—which both feature a shower. The Standard Room and Standard Plus Balcony room offer a single bed, while the 30-square-meter Standard Plus Loft and the 45-square-meter Balcony Junior Suite feature twin beds, with the latter also home to two bunk beds. The Living Suite, the Dining Suite, and the Terrace Suite—at 55, 82, and 140 square meters, respectively—boast double beds. The Standard Plus Loft room, the Living Suite, and the Dining Suite are all home to a loft, while the Terrace Suite boasts a 70-square-meter terrace.
