There’s no denying, ROOST is on a roll, opening yet another property in Water Street, a prestigious 56-acre waterfront development project Tampa. Following Philadelphia, Detroit and Cleveland, the apartment hotel chain plants a flag in one of the Sunshine State‘s most dynamic cities, opening a hotel that effortlessly defines the lifestyle of modern Florida. Conceptualised by Philadelphia-based hospitality company Method Co. and designed by Morris Adjmi Architects, ROOST Tampa features 97 studio, one and two-bedroom, and co-living units spread across six floors of Asher, a newly built residential tower. The double-height lobby is an exemplary exercise of contemporary hospitality design, seeing an understated backdrop of concrete walls, tile flooring and a timber ceiling for an elongated, curved bench and bold modern artworks. The apartments come with all the modern comfort and amenities that appeal to today’s savvy traveller, and are captured by a minimalist yet also industrial interior design that reference the city’s history.
The stylish apartments come with a curated range of contemporary furnishings and design details from Method Co., such as handmade Moroccan Beni rugs, surrealist artwork by artist Massimo Colonna, leather Luteca lounge chairs, and last but not least, full-sized kitchens. Also, the city’s local Latin American heritage helped inform the project’s personality and design with subtle references of the timeworn elegance of Ybor City, a Latin quarter steeped in history and once home to many renowned cigar factories, resulting in a palette of elements of warm walnut, vintage foliage motifs, hemp strapping and woven textiles. A first for the brand, ROOST Tampa marks the debut of the concept’s first ‘co-living apartment’, introducing a communal living environment for travelers with a shared common area, living room, and full-sized kitchen. And that’s not all. While the city has a lot to offer, ROOST Tampa pitches with alluring range of facilities of its own. The 30,000 sq.ft. (2,787 sqm.) amenity level is awash with pleasant recreational extras, including a club, lounge, a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, an outdoor bar and social garden, but also co-working lounges and two conference rooms for those who need to get things done.
