Tsuki-no-yama, Yamagata Soba Noodle Dining, has been opened in the back alley of Yoyogi, Tokyo. Tsuki-no-yama is where you can enjoy local soba noodle as well as local cuisine and sake from Yamagata. The name of the restaurant is named after Mt. Gassan in Yamagata which appears in one of haikus by Basho Matsuo, the Japanese haiku master.

The facade gives you a remarkable impression with the huge shop canvas curtain showing the logo picturing and the tall wooden louvers in the restaurant which reaches to the high ceiling. The wooden louvers are dyed with inks drawing Mt. Gassan in Yamagata, which make the restaurant SNS worthy. Also, the glass partition in shapes of moon and the pendant lamps with hand blown glasses create a nice and cosy atmosphere to make you feel like enjoying their cuisine with sake and finishing your dinner with tasty soba noodle. At last but not least, it also has shopping area on the other side, selling lunch boxes and some souvenir goods from Yamagata.

Simple but selective, this restaurant shows the soba culture from Yamagata, with which the restaurants pursue their own originality with scents of buckwheat flour and sensations when swallowing soba.
