Rensource Energy Nigeria is an alternative energy company operating across Nigeria. Our brief was to design and retrofit a defunct Oceanic Bank Building to accommodate this innovative, future-oriented company with a young team motivated to spur on change in a country known for its oil production. The space was built to reflect the company’s values, identity, and vision for Nigeria’s future. As such, the exterior of the building was designed using solar panels as a key aesthetic element, signalling a bold and confident embrace of this technology.

The interiors of the office space also needed to be designed for maximum flexibility, ranging from the more casual workspaces space for the engineers on the ground floor to the more corporate space for the finance and legal teams on the first floor. Hot-desking is fundamental to the company’s work policy, so a more open plan was essential to the design.
