For an active CBD at Beijing Guo-Mao District, Cable 8 is conceived to contain latitude for innovative architectural and urban intervention. Far beyond an architectural building it should be part of the city happenings physically and programmatically. We intend to design a dynamic urban body interactive with architectural program and urban stimulation process of the settings. The wing like floating structure manifests rapid pace Chinese departure towards global situation.

The vast open lawn consumed by public engagements, fluidly integrates the building with the greater city context. Cantilevered structure shelters different public activities beneath to promote a vibrant urban strategy. Multifunctional colloid of retail shops, café, restaurant, museum, auditorium, offices and hotel facilities within the structure offers an active urban space round the clock.
