Chen Sea Resort& SPA opened in 2008 and is located in a tranquil and exclusive bay on the west coast of theIsland of Phu Quoc.

Chen Sea is the realization of a dream to create a resort that blends into the bay and coastal zone’s natural habitat, ensuring minimal impact on the surrounding environment and ecology.

Traditional Oriental simplicity and refinement are the inspiration for the design and furnishings throughout the resort and all rooms are equipped with international in-room amenities that ensure maximum comfort for our guests.

The Architecture of the resort is inspired by the local environment and the realization of 36 accommodations with 12 Beach Front rooms, 12 Sea View rooms, 6 Jacuzzi Villas, originally from Hoi An and 6 Pool Villas, the only double bedrooms accommodation on the Island. followed a project plan that minimized the impact on nature as much as possible and in respect of the natural Feng Xui elements of the property. . The Main idea was to create a minimalist peaceful design based around a traditional wooden and brick Hoi An house. A contrast between traditional and contemporary design, where the international facilities should takes place into a wooden ancient house.

Thanks to the close collaboration between the investor (Mauro Barratino) – the project manager (9PM project management) and the architects (Sicart & Smith), we have ensured a realistic project that matched the budget, the spirit of Chen Sea and the original design.

Only natural and original materials has been used: wood, tiles, concrete, linen, glass, metal, that was quite a big challenge in a tropical country where the architecture is directly exposed to the element while integrating the maintenance and resort needs operation.

The main idea was to keep the space open as much as possible and create privacy with light and removable partition (curtain, sliding element). This makes the Chen Sea the lowest density of Guests on the Island in a Resort.

Polish concrete is the main finished element that highlights immediately the traditional structure.

Some smart design solution has been custom made as pendant rope switches or custom made faucet. The simple and easiest has always been chosen.

Those attentions transform the small, mild, and every day simple and common actions of the daily life into a unique experience.
