Grand Metropolitan is an eye-catching mall an hour’s drive east of Jakarta, Indonesia, in the up-and-coming Bekasi district. Built alongside the Kalimalang River waterfront and immediately adjacent to a primary highway connector to Jakarta, Grand Metropolitan is an exclusive mixed-use development with a six-level retail center, a 20-story hotel/office tower, and two residential towers. Striking exterior visuals take full advantage of that position, with distinctive curvilinear forms accented by extensive copper-colored mirrored architectural paneling that presents a dramatic flair. The large central skylighted Sun Court features abundant natural lighting and a bustling restaurant gallery to activate the space. Above, a rooftop restaurant includes multiple outdoor dining terraces atop the dynamic shopping center.

Phase-2 will introduce a contemporary residential tower that punctuates the Bekasi Barat urban gateway. This slender site is maximized by creating a pedestrian-oriented superblock concept allowing residents to explore all the conveniences of mixed-use living with connections to various onsite services, including easy access to the public mass transportation hub. Inside, the phase-2 residential component, Grand Metropolitan Tower, features multiple services and amenities for residents: a welcoming community lounge, an indoor/outdoor gym, a sunset sky-pool, and an executive lounge with a sky-garden. The brand and environmental graphics developed alongside the architecture visually enhance entryways and integrate wayfinding into architectural components for maximum impact. Phase-3 will include the second residential tower and hotel/office component.
