This low-budget museum is located at small village called Gasiri in Jeju island, the volcanic island in Korea. The villagers have initiated various cultural enterprise to boost local economy of the region and the horse museum is one of their main works whose goal is to attracts tourists.

A doughnut shaped gallery space is elevated on the zigzagged walls of the ground floor in the vast prairie, which allows space underneath for rest, not only for the visitors but also for the workers of the farm. The doughnut shape was inspired by small volcanoes in the region, called Oreum, which have hollowed spaces on their summits. On the roof of the museum, visitors can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of Jeju Island, just like they do on top of the volcanic mountains.
