Thinking of a space that accompanies the daily lives of its residents, the architectural firm C2HA sought minimalism as a reference to turn a newly built apartment in Pompeia into a cozy and functional home for a small family and two dogs. They are now preparing for a new dynamic with the arrival of a new member. The project, created through the combination of the clients' style and the materials provided by the construction company, made use of natural materials - such as the ceramic brick coating without grout, porcelain tile with a burnt cement effect, and vinyl flooring with a wooden pattern, to welcome with elegance. This more rustic style that natural materials provide harmoniously complements the apartment's urban characteristics.

Colorful details bring joy and contrast to the neutral colors used in every room. Life was given to the kitchen and bathrooms through decorated, rectangular, brick-like ceramics. The bathroom covering was a tribute to the client's family, who comes from the Northeast and is the tile manufacturer.

What were the key challenges?

The main highlight of the work is the woodworking in the room, which has a bookcase, rack, and minimalist shoe rack with a modern design, signed by the architecture office.

What materials did you choose and why? 

For a routine that requires safety and mobility, decoration and furniture bring few elements but enough to provide comfort and well-being. In the living room, for example, a sofa with Puff and an armchair in the corner form the environment. The dining table is leaning against the island created by the junction of the living room with the balcony, protected by glass windows that provide natural lighting and a beautiful view.

Lighting was designed to bring warmth and functionality. To this end, the project used several indirect light points, such as LED strips, and more direct lighting points, such as light spots.

Slatted sliding doors in the office are also a differential. They are designed for parents who want to work in privacy without losing sight of their child, thus participating in the development and growth of their greatest asset.

This project created spaces to be occupied, explored, and lived — a cozy place for the story of a beautiful family to be built with safety and comfort. Here, the residents are the main protagonists.
