The clients, who are a young couple without children, asked us to help them with the decoration of their small flat in the Raval neighbourhood. The goal was to make the most out of the space and also that their flat would transmit what they were looking for - a cosy refuge that transmits tranquillity and harmony in the middle of the bustling Raval neighbourhood.

Bearing this in mind, we looked for light colours but with character and we used natural and solid wood that gave warmth and a touch of luxury.

The walls were left in an off-white colour and in the bedroom we placed a textured wallpaper simulating raffia in brown tones that contrasted with the powdered pinks, the natural wood and the white.

As the space was very small, we designed custom-made wardrobes based on the storage needs of the clients.

To add a touch of glamour we used brass accessories, such as the bespoke cupboard handles, and the decorative objects from Kelly Hoppen Studio, London, which brought a lot of elegance, design and a careful selected artistic push.

In regards to the textiles, these were very important in this project for functional reasons, as we had to make sure that the room was completely dark so that the clients could sleep peacefully.

As the clients work different schedules from each other, it was very important that the door of the room could be completely blacked out. For this effect we used a satin curtain in powdered pink which gives the room an elegant air and at the same time fulfils its function. Furthermore we also added special black out blinds for the exterior windows. To enrich the design we mixed textures such as velvets with natural fibres such as sisal and cotton.

The lighting also played a very important role, as by placing floor and table lamps with lampshades of different textures as rattan, cotton and velvet, we were able to play with the light and provide an even warmer and cosier atmosphere.

The result is a bright flat, with warm light points and harmonious colours that bring freshness and a feeling of well-being.
