The former library was transformed into 23 unique apartments, a communal space, a basement and a guest room on top of the building. The name of the building ‘Boekhuis’, the phrases originating from Dutch literature on the balustrades and the large bookcase in the communal space refer to this previous life of the building.

Meanwhile, the surrounding park Zonnehof has been developed. Both projects together have improved this part of the city, adding value to the neighbourhood.

The Boekhuis is a building with an important social value, a story, which will remain to be part of the collective memory of the city.
