The Design Village Penang is situated in a distinctive corner plot, strategically positioned across the linear park and flanked by a waterway. Within close proximity to Penang International Airport, the Design Village provides a unique destination retail development and residential complex intimately tied with the rest of the city of Penang.

Design Village Penang emphasises the unique characteristics of Penang’s streetscape to cultivate a cohesive master plan. The Design Village itself is in a natural, single-storey, naturally-ventilated park which features cool, well-sheltered verandah walkways and connectors, nestled within a lush tropical garden setting. The architectural approach is one that is contemporary, stylistically international and non-thematic. Yet references are made to Georgetown City’s historical urban scale, visual texture and architectural tapestry in the physical composition of the Design Village—to give it a character emblematic of its locale.

Dynamic shopping streets create unique spaces, providing a more intimate environment that continually unveils itself. Vibrant F&B strips connect Design Village Penang to the residential complexes and pedestrian promenade, unveiling a unique space to wine, dine, and relax.

Connected to greater Penang and inspired by the city it is sited in, Design Village Penang is a new icon, an experiential premium outlet mall in Malaysia that aims to be the creative and retail hub for Asia’s leading indie brands and the world’s global names, featuring a mix of premium and luxury brand stores, which will be one of the biggest single-level shopping complex in this region—a one-stop family place for shopping, dining and lifestyle retail experience.
