On 7th February 2019, Spotti Milano and Valcucine will inaugurate the new layout of their store at 27 Viale Piave. The famous furniture store now embraces the world of kitchens, offering the Milanese public a special selection of Valcucine products within a completely restyled set-up, thanks to the project designed by the Turin-based architectural firm Marcante-Testa, with styling by Studio Fludd.
The architecture of the showroom offers a broad and global vision, focusing on the kitchens. Here, meticulous choices of materials, such as the new lived-in steel and zinc-titanium finishes, are emphasized by carefully coordinating the materials used to decorate the rooms. Numerous partnerships have made this varied and innovative project possible, involving important companies such as Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, Appiani, Ceramica Vogue, Ceramica Bardelli, Matteo Brioni and HQ Parquet. The Valcucine compositions selected for the store include two Artematica blocks: the first in the ceramic and glass version with the innovative V-Motion system, and the second with special retracting doors that can hide or unveil the kitchen according to the costumer’s needs. Completing the exhibition is the central island Genius Loci with its warm shaded Lithos top, with red porphyry finish and glossy Amethyst doors and the Riciclantica collection with its Logica Theca system combined with the Aerius glass door wall unit.
Continuity and fluidity between the kitchens and the architectural space is made possible thanks to the custom-made support surfaces upholstered in the warm raw earth of TerraPlus by Matteo Brioni and the Denim ceramic mosaic by Appiani, which create an interplay between the world of furniture and upholstery. Likewise, the Vienna modular wood and straw panelling Straw Shadow by Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, designed by the duo Marcante-Testa (the first preview of 2019 Salone del Mobile), evolves from a decorative component into a piece of ceiling and wall cladding.
Numerous choices for flooring are offered by HQ Parquet, including Rovere Suite and Ulivo Etnos, and additionally the ceramics on the walls of Viale Piave, such as Dekorami and Confetti by Ceramica Vogue and Lines by Ceramica Bardelli. All the products of the partner companies are to be found in the special Materioteca area: a design laboratory aimed at creating synergy with architectural firms and individuals, that will be guided not only in the choice of the product, but also in the materials used.
Completing the set-up are the furnishing elements of Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, including the Rehbeintisch table and the Single Curve stools by Nendo, alongside the sophisticated Garbo ceiling lamps, designed by Mariyo Yagi, and Giacomo Balla's Fiori Futuristi, both historic re-editions of the the Bolognese brand Paradisoterrestre.
