The BRU project, signed by the NOSSA Casa Arquitetura office, led by Daniele Capo, gained privacy, protection and optimization of the useful area with the closing of the penthouse that occupied the upper floor of the duplex. With the renovation, the 60 m² apartment gained a wide social environment, in addition to providing a well-defined intimate area.
The client's main request was to consider a space to rest, as she spends most of the day outside. With a focus on practicality, it was decided to keep the private suite and the office on the first floor, on the old balcony that also became the entrance hall and access to the stairs.
Since the kitchen and the service area are not used daily, it made sense to concentrate the social and service area on the upper floor. The old open roof was completely isolated by a masonry structure and large windows on three sides, providing natural lighting and ample cross ventilation.
The social area also gained a toilet that is hidden in a masonry structure. The straight lines of the accessories and furniture, and the sober tones of the walls, highlight the green and pink colors, another customer request that has a cheerful, delicate and stripped-down essence.
The kitchen joinery followed the classic line, but is distinguished by the colored granite and the color of the cabinets. Mixing the materials was the alternative found to break the seriousness, as in the floors of the bedroom, entrance and balcony, which are made of burnt cement and join the vinyl floor, giving a fun shape to the environment.
The joinery was also fundamental in the care with reduced footage. At the entrance, the closet holds cleaning products and serves as a bench and shoe rack. Upstairs, cabinets hide the washing machine and less decorative kitchen items.
