The project brief was to turn an old factory into an exhibition center, where the building program was to hold a patio furniture expo. The object of the contest was to work on the outside of the building; on facades east and south only keeping the cost under a reasonable amount was important.​ By using simple, common, industrial materials in an unconventional way, the building was able to achieve a unique and current design aesthetics inexpensively. The building is situated in an industrial area in Raleigh, North Carolina. The design was influenced by the factory typology.
