Rent the Runway (RTR) is one of the best-known disruptors in e-commerce. Its subscription service democratizes fashion and minimizes waste, using an online platform that encourages interaction and belonging. For RTR’s San Francisco flagship, the fifth location in RTR’s burgeoning network of physical spaces, ALA employed the brand’s distinct black-and-white graphic to help members navigate the interior intuitively. The 8,300-square-foot two-story interior’s multiple configurations suit members’ varying schedules, in which the upper floor supports unhurried, meaningful engagements with seating arrangements, a complimentary coffee bar, and RTR’s first-ever communal dressing room.
