PAB ARCHITECTS planned and completed the integration of an internal and external museum area and different event rooms in the heritage-protected traditional distillery in Nordhausen. This also includes the design in form and content of the museum area, including a multitude of educational and didactical aspects. Visitors experience the variety of the Nordhäuser product palet, with all senses, in the event shop. Through the retention of the historical elements of alcohol distillation, it was possible to create a tangible connection to the region’s forests and rye fields. Colours, images and intensive fragrances of the distillery support this emotional experience.
