The street lecture hall / library is an element of the scientific, educational and event complex of Planetarium 1 in St. Petersburg (the territory of the former gas-holder on Obvodny Canal Street).
This object is a trapezoidal translucent volume of the lecture hall. In the broken shape, there are no right angles. The planes of the surfaces have deviations from perpendiculars by 3-6 angular degrees, which creates a visual game with perspective distortions.
Frame and finishing: LVL-beams, seam metal roofing, flooring - varnish Siberian larch. The metal structural elements are open and successfully complement the interior design. The roof is supported by 12 meter LVL-beams, standing on "V" -shaped pillars, which makes the structure light and airy. The silhouette dynamism of the twisted shape of the lecture hall is additionally provided by a framing metal channel. The lecture hall hosts a variety of popular science lectures, the construction is designed for 50 visitors.
The result of the collaborations of a group of designers from the "Geosota" and "Planetarium 1" teams (architects, design engineers): Pavel Brayvo, Nikolay Zverev, Stanislav Bobyshko, Evgeny Gudov, Nazar Dorofeev, Maria Tarnavskaya, Ksenia Talnova.
