Three historic row houses have undergone a complete transformation to create a single family residence on New York’s Upper East Side. The front façade received a complete historically accurate restoration to bring it back to its former glory; while the new rear façade and interior reimagines a modern way of living in this triple townhouse.  The layout challenges the notion of townhouse living by creating double height and double wide spaces which are counter to what one may expect when walking through the front door.  A light shaft clad in a custom metal filigree cuts through four floors to bring in natural light from the sky into the dramatic entry.
