Tropical designs have been adopted to respond to the hot and humid weather. These include the use of generous fenestrations for natural daylight and ventilation, as well as the incorporation of a large overhang at the porch for sheltering the heavy downpour. The draping plants together with green walls are strategically placed throughout the house as a secondary screen for shade and cutting down of glare. The front gate is half overgrown with creepers and climbers, providing a sense of privacy for the home without the imposing aesthetics of a solid wall. It is a house with maximum visual connectivity, enabling the adults of the household to get busy with their own activities while the children play freely within the compound.
