In Kanne-Riemst a village in Belgium, just across the border from Maastricht, is realized by Verheij Architects a contemporary villa. The vacant lot is located on a corner on a relatively busy road which links to this and a number of neighboring villages with Maastricht. Because of the traffic and the associated noise, the house has at the front much as possible given a closed character. The rear has a spectacular view of the St. Pietersberg in Maastricht.
