The house was a part of an ancient factory, later disused and finally transformed into a loft.

The project is focused on the special interior space of the existing building: a double height space with a curved ceiling and several big windows that bring a lot of natural light inside.

The aim was to join the unusual space features of an industrial building with the domestic quality and warm atmosphere of an house, keeping as much as possible the stunning existing void and his atmosphere.

We used strong materials like raw iron, concrete floor, metal window frame… searching for an industrial appeal but with a very domestic and cozy atmosphere.

The loft has a large living area at the ground floor with the kitchen completely open on the dining area. This double-height space is the heart of the house, linked to the upper floor with a raw-iron staircase placed in the middle of the space to separate the sofa area from the kitchen. On the upper floor a study corner takes place near the stairs, open on the lower floor through the glass parapet panels. The master bedroom and a bathroom are placed on the ground floor, two the children bedrooms and a bathroom are on the first floor.
