在现代“⽣产”⽆所不在的社会中，⽣活本身展示为许多景象的堆积，散乱的事物按其“在场”状态排列其中。“家具”作为我们最熟悉的事物之⼀，在我们的身边随着时间演绎着空间⾥的故事，在⾃⾜的形象世界中，进⾏着⾮⽣命之物的⾃发运动。确切的说，它经历时间后变的更加真实，并在物质上转化为⼼理介质反映出⼈们的⽂化⽣活，诉说它⾃身的语⾔。

解释学提醒我们，“部分组成社会领域的那些主体总是都嵌⼊历史传统中。”然⽽⼈类是历史的⼀部分，⽽不仅仅是它的观察者或旁观者，新经验事物与被感知的传统经验事物会不断迭代相互联系。

In a modern society where‘production’ is ubiquitous, life itself is displayed as a stack of many scenes, and scattered things are arranged according to their ‘presence’ state. ‘furniture’ as one of the things we are most familiar with, interprets the stories in the space over time by our side, and in the self-sufficient image world, the spontaneous movement of non-living things is carried out. To be precise, it becomes more real after time, and is transformed into a psychological medium to reflect people’s cultural life and speak its own language. Hermeneutics reminds us that some of the subjects that make up the social sphere are always embedded in historical traditions. However, human beings are part of history, not just its observers or bystanders. Newly experienced things and the perceived traditional experiences are constantly interrelated with each other.

仁喜里 6 号

它比广州火车站的年纪还大。五十多年间，它游走于各大街角。流动的人口，庞大的批发市场，热闹叫卖的小摊贩。

It is older than Guangzhou Railway Station. For more than 50 years, it wandered around the corners of the streets. Floating population, huge wholesale markets, small vendors selling lively.

如今高速发展的城市景观与现代化景象，让它再也无法探寻旧时光的角落。于是驻足于仁喜街，听老人家诉说着过去的时光。

Today’s rapidly developing urban landscape and modern scene. So that it can no longer explore the corners of the old time. So I stopped at Renxi Street and listened to the old people talking about the past. -

Furen East Street

福仁东街 5 号

它，是台风来临的“涉水线”，浸泡过雨水之后生长至今模样。

It is the ‘wading line’ where the typhoon comes. After being soaked in rainwater, it has grown to look like this. -

- 长着一张嘴用力呼吸

仿佛回到曾经暴雨中求生的瞬间

- Breathe hard with a mouth long

As if back to the moment of survival in the rainstorm

仁喜里 9 号

它从小跟随着 6 号椅子游历

两人从小相依，见证广州变迁

It has traveled with the No. 6 chair since childhood. The two depended on each other since childhood and witnessed the changes in Guangzhou. -

日渐堆叠起的方盒子和耀眼的玻璃，不再像随处可⻅热气腾腾的烟火气。无论什么时期，总是有这样一批人，不再踏入现代化的列⻋走向新潮。

Square boxes and dazzling glass that are gradually stacked

No longer like steaming fireworks everywhere

No matter what period there is always such a group of people

Stop stepping into the modern ranks and move towards the new trend

它不甘心在密闭的办公室里做一个小职员。

三十年前，一位即将要退休的女士，看出了这个小心思，带回家中。

It is unwilling to be a clerk in a closed office. Thirty years ago, a lady who was about to retire. Seeing this careful thought, take it home.

Furen East Street

福仁东街 3 号

它是在斯里兰卡的海域获救。船员带它回了陆地城市市集。三十年间，生锈的腿已走不远。

It was rescued in the waters of Sri Lanka. The crew took it back to the land city market. In thirty years, the rusty legs have not gone far.

- 理发师换新了木板，延续了生命。

- 客人发梢时不时洒下来的水滴，提醒着那次奇迹逃生的记忆。

The barber renewed the plank and continued his life.

Water droplets from the tips of guests’ hair,

Reminding the memory of that miraculous escape.

质变

Qualitative change

马克思在《路易·波拿巴的雾月十八日》一文中要求人们注意，在社会迅速变革时期，人类总会“请出过去”以便自己对过去的延续充满信心，过去不仅是我们现在和未来吸收新经验的基础，也是我们理解人类自身的基石。

新材料艺术家叶帆运用新材料——太空软胶，通过喷注工艺附着在旧家具上，让传统旧家具的价值重新被审视，借由新材料使旧家具从单纯的功能性存在，向多维度空间与价值进行探索，在新科技有意识的理性干预中承载了制作之初完全无法想象的意义，离开原来的历史现实（或地域空间）而刺入当下，同现实世界中的线性历史相对，当眼睛看出来（阅读出来）时，完成由故到新的有机转化（质变）。

In the article ‘the Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte’, Marx requested that people pay attention to the fact that in a period of rapid social transformation, mankind will always ‘please out the past’ so that we can be confident in the continuation of the past. The basis for absorbing new experiences in the future is also the cornerstone of our understanding of human beings. Ye Fan（new material artist） uses a new material ——— space soft glue to attach to the old furniture through an injection process, allowing the value of traditional old furniture to be re-examined. With the new material, the old furniture is more than transformed from a purely functional existence towards multidimensional space and value exploration. In the conscious and rational intervention of new technology, it carries a meaning that was completely unimaginable at the beginning of production. Also leaving the original historical reality (or geographical space) and piercing into the present, as opposed to the linear history in the real world, when the eye sees it (read it), it completes the organic transformation (qualitative change) from the old to the new.

A stack of stationery that slowly conveys love.

Feel the traces and residual temperature of your lover’s grip.

直到那天弥漫于漫天喜庆的红

好像在那个时代一次恋爱即一辈子

Until that day was filled with festive red.

It seems that in that era, one love is for a lifetime.

它的形状完美的贴合腰部线条。高奶奶腰不舒服的时候总会靠上去，闭目养神，好让疼痛逐渐消散。

Its shape perfectly fits the waist line.

Grandma always leans up when her waist is uncomfortable.

Close your eyes and rest your mind so that the pain will gradually dissipate.

这是 30 年前女儿带回来专⻔送给她的礼物。

那一刻她露出了惊喜的微笑。

原来，高妈妈曾经做了一辈子的藤椅，自己都还未拥有过一把。

This is a gift that my daughter brought back to her 30 years ago.

At that moment she gave a surprise smile.

It turned out that she used to be a wicker chair for a lifetime.

She haven’t owned one yet.

大蚬塘 20 号

它降临于木工厂内的大伯之手

遇见冯姨是在 1986 年嫁进门之时

一个新家庭的诞生让它备受关照

It came to the hands of the uncle in the wood factory. I met Aunt Feng when I got married in 1986. The birth of a new family makes it well cared for.

随后，冯姨也离开了它去了沙园居住。

在曾经的家门口，接受暴雨的浸泡。

那些年的记忆也随之泡发、腐蚀、软化。

什么时候我会离开？它正在思考着。

Later, Aunt Feng also left it and went to live in the sand garden. At the door of the old house, I was soaked in the rainstorm. The memories have also been soaked, corroded, and softened. When will I leave? It is thinking.

超越

Beyond

我们正经历着深刻的集体转变，那些陪我们生活过的“家具”澄清自己在时间中的模样，我们经历制造它们的年代，也将经历重塑它们的时代。这次展览力图呼吁大家有意识地摆脱思考和行动的习惯性方式，参与到对艺术化生活的建构中来，我们也将会继续寻找这些被时间和情感赋予想象力的“旧家具”，根据其自身真实的愿望，连通艺术生活与现实融合的新存在方式。创造即汲取，创作即获救，塑造即昭示。通过“它”进入新的认识，在我们瞥见、聆听、触摸、交互的过程中呈现自身，亲身体验瞬时片刻，既超越时间又驻留于此刻。

Nowadays we are undergoing a profound collective transformation. The ‘furnitures’ that accompany our lives clarify their appearance in the time. We have experienced the age of making them, and we will also experience the age of reshaping them. This exhibition appeal to everyone for consciously get rid of the habitual way of thinking and acting, and participate in the construction of artistic life. We will also continue to look for these ‘old furniture’ that are endowed with imagination by time and emotion. According to its true desire, use a new way of existence that connects artistic life and reality. To create is to acquire, to create is to be rescued, and to shape is to show. We enter a new understanding through ‘it’, present ourselves in the process of glimpsing, listening, touching, and interacting, experiencing a momentary moment in person, not only transcending time but also staying in this moment.
