BUILDING A BALANCE
For owners who are also designers, it is not easy to create a peaceful oasis in a city full of tall buildings, but as long as we slowly change our way of thinking, we can learn to appreciate the fast and slow in life.
In the earliest design process, we did not separate the two or deliberately avoid the other, but learned to live between the two, listening to the soft hum of the haven with one ear, and feeling the ambulance with the other ear The heated sound of the alarm. Some people call it a compromise, but we’d better think of it as a way to strike a balance between oppositions, doing work in the study, and then enjoying a homemade lunch with the family on the sofa or at the bar. Productivity is not the only measure of the full use of their time.
The wall and the top surface are made of birch as a block-like visual extension, which strengthens the staying feeling of the porch and echoes the cabinet of the restaurant countertop. While shaping the sense of wrapping, there is space division in the open area, breaking Embarrassed at a loss.
The entire design weakened the regional concept of the restaurant, emphasizing the communication concept of human living, sitting around the bar with friends and family, preparing meals, eating, working and reading, or having fun with children, not just a dining table.
Whole house wood floors and cement walls with warm wood finishes sense of form contrasts, and the form of white space is added to create a rhythmic layered space, reducing the layout of the top lighting to increase the atmosphere of service. The living room is not for watching TV, but for family members to sit around and enjoy each other’s happy leisure time.
At the top of the corridor, a light strip that runs through the entire living room and public area is used as lighting and at the same time acts as a guide, which is fascinating.
The balcony and the desk are made of different materials, and the black cabinets and the steel plate lines are compared in thickness. While working at ease, they can stabilize the mood without lack of leisure. The original vertical recessed niches are used to make wooden bookshelves. The wooden box on the windowsill is matched with a sequence of virtual and real rhythm changes.
The cement wall is used as the bedside background, creating a balance between the white wood color, and the connected light on the top brings out the different textures of soft plaster and wood, which looks like fragmentation and connects the space together, with a small proportion of black It adds a deep and quiet imagination to the vision, and it is not just in front of the eyes.
The wooden box wraps the headboard and the window sill to dissolve visual irregularities and create a sense of stability. It is also an attitude to avoid cumbersome confrontation through irregular forms.

We cannot control everything that happens in life, whether it is the long delay of the bus or the angry pedestrians around us, but we can find peace and self at home. Whether we go home and lie down and sleep, or look back at today’s to-do list, or the tea next to us gradually cools down, we will be fortunate to have such a pure land that allows us to return to peace before going out to the outside world the next day.
