AL_A Architects

The building is a part of the EDP Foundation's master plan for an art campus that also includes functional modifications to the Tahoe River Central Power Station.

这座建筑是 EDP 基金会为一个艺术校区总体规划的一部分，校区还包括对塔霍河中央电站的功能改造。

Situated on the banks of the Tagus River in Portugal, the museum is designed and built by the AL_A team led by British architect Amanda Levete. It knows as a novel space of Lisbon culture.

博物馆位于位于葡萄牙的Tagus河岸，由英国建筑师Amanda Levete带领的AL_A团队设计建造，被誉为里斯本文化新奇的空间景象。

The design was inspired by sailing sails and the wings of birds. The designer placed great emphasis on the basic environment, creating a physical and conceptual connection between the waterfront and the city center.

设计灵感来源于起航的帆船和飞鸟的翅膀，设计师对基地环境极为看重，在滨水区域和城市中心之间创造了物理上和概念上的联系。

The shape of the building is very unusual. It looks like an irregular ellipse when viewed from the air, while the side view is a curved structure inclined towards the water.

建筑的外形十分独特，从空中俯瞰是一个不规则的椭圆形，侧面视角则是向水域倾斜的曲线结构。

The design close to the waterfront adopts a bold pattern, with 15,000 three-dimensional tiles inlaid on the facade, highlighting the habitual expression of Portuguese ceramics.

靠近滨水一面的设计采用大出挑的模式，立面上镶嵌15000块三维瓷砖，凸显出葡萄牙陶瓷运用的传统表达。

The wall brick pattern enhances the complex expression of the facade, refracting the sparkling waves of the river, and the light and shadow effects on the building constantly change  the light to achieve a dynamic scene.

墙砖纹路增强了立面的复杂表现，折射出河水的粼粼波光，建筑上的光影效果随着光线不断变化，达成动态的景象。

The raised roof is like a mirror, and the building is brighter and clearer due to the reflection.

耸起的屋顶犹如一面镜子，在反射的作用下，建筑物更加明亮清晰。

The designer integrates the structure with the terrain, and the steps reaching the river will be flooded when the tide rises. The uncontrollable nature gives the public are an unknown charm.

设计师将结构与地形融为一体，伸向河中的台阶在涨潮时会被淹没，自然的不可控性赋予了公共区域的未知的魅力。

The state of the visitors is also extremely free, allowing them to walk up and down the building, and a sidewalk near the river leads to the cantilevered roof platform.

而参观者的状态也是极度自由的，可以实现在建筑中的上下穿行，一条临河的人行道通向悬挑的屋顶平台。

The designer pays significant attention to the interaction between the building and the people. The open space is fixed on the top of the building, and people can enjoy the panoramic view of the river or even the entire Belém on the platform like a frame.

设计师十分注重建筑与人之间的互动，开放性的空间设置在建筑顶部，人们可以在画框般的平台上观赏到河流甚至是整个Belém的全景。

"The design of this museum closely integrates architecture and landscape, showing a strong but close to the ground and sensual architectural expression, exploring the possibility of blending contemporary art, architecture and technology."
