South Korea-based interior design Studio Another D Studio specialises in creating aesthetic, functional and sophisticated interiors tailored to the needs of space users. The encounter between the designer and the space is like the beginning of a dream. Each project is endowed with another emotion by the studio, which is perfectly presented and expressed in these scenes.
The design of Sutimoon Charcoal Barbecue restaurant is inspired by the use of charcoal barbecue, an ancient and traditional cooking method. The designer uses modern expressions to interpret traditional Korean food culture. Special ingredients are carefully selected and crafted by chefs, who find the right balance between them and each dish, giving them clever, unpredictable and new twists.
Based on this, Another D Studio proposed an atmosphere of elegance and restoration of original style, and saw it as an appropriate vessel to capture the traditional aesthetic values of Korea since ancient times, while at the same time containing the pursuit of original taste and the best interpretation of modern form.
The designer combines taste, smell and vision with modern lifestyle in the space, forming a multi-sensory coordination. The brand value of the restaurant naturally accumulates over time, and implies the development of aesthetic concepts in a certain direction, which gradually precipitates and then internalizes itself.
Sutimoon refers to the glimmer of light emitted by burning charcoal - similar to the shape of the moon in the night sky - and is a combination of the Korean word for charcoal and the English word for Wolseok. Starting from the brand name, the designer graphically introduces the narrative structure of the space. This subtle and intuitive assumption is realized through the combination of rough, dark walls and moonlight lights.
