Tucked between historic facades on a tree-lined road in Mexico City’s stylish Condesa neighborhood, the hotel fuses the spirit of its bohemian surroundings with a playfully simple design aesthetic. Housed in a 1928 building, Condesa DF is filled from head to toe with custom furniture designed by Parisian designer India Mahdavi, stone tiles, and an abundance of local color. The feel is modern yet warm, hip but not haughty.

Often compared to New York’s SoHo, Condesa is seen as one of Mexico City’s trendier areas. Characterized by timeworn colonial architecture, cosmo-cool drinking spots, and green parks dotted with natty young Mexicans and internationals, the crowd’s relationship with the area is symbiotic and forever changing: vibrant, fresh, and capturing the city’s transition.

With incredible views of Parque España and Chapultepec Castle, this triangular space stands out for its carefully chosen design, unmatched mixology and for having one of the best sushi bars in the city. Coming from the Morimoto school, Japanese Chef Keisuke Harada presents a varied representation of Japanese dishes with light Mexican touches.

The 40 rooms and suites were inspired by the tranquility of monastic bedrooms—but without a lack of amenities, of course. The result is calming, airy spaces, some of which open onto wooden terraces, while, an overarching floral theme—visible on everything from cushion covers to chopstick wrappers—serves to enhance the relaxed, warm-weather vibe.
