With the construction of the auditorium, the interprofessional campus for teaching and research in the health sector will be completed with its central location in the education district of the city of Zurich and thus makes an important contribution to the solution of the acute shortage of space in the university environment.

The underground auditorium opens with a mighty canopy as the entrance area in the surrounding terrain.

A generous staircase leads down to the foyer. The opening of the auditorium is staged by a sequence of high and low volumes. The foyer creates open, high areas and low, protected zones.

A central light illuminates the room. The daylight is guided by coatings of different heights, creating bright and dark areas. On the opposite side modern interpreted chandeliers in a linear arrangement shine the high space.

The light in its various facets leads the visitors through the entrance hall, creates different light moods depending on the benefit and time and builds tension.

After passing under the directional booth, you enter the auditorium. The biodynamic artificial light, which can play different scenes depending on the requirements, spans the wooden coffered ceiling as a shining sky. In addition, integrated in the wood structure, executed as a light line, perfectly glare downlights, achieve the required amount of light. In contrast to the foyer creates a soft and even lighting mood.
