隈研吾新作 | 东京高轮 Gateway 站，演绎日式风格新门户

高轮Gateway站是东日本旅客铁路公司神奈川再建设项目的一部分，该项目设想对东京都港区的前铁路站场进行重新开发，使其成为市中心以南的世界级商业中心。

The station has been built as part of JR East’s Shinagawa Redevelopment Project, which envisages the redevelopment of former railway yards in Minato ward as a global business hub just south of the city centre.

该车站为东京山手线的第30个车站。选择“高轮Gateway站”这一车站名称，是希望它将成为东京新的海陆门户。

This new station on the Yamanote Loop line in Tokyo will become its 30th. The station name was chosen with the expectation that it will become a new sea and land gateway for Tokyo.

建筑由日本建筑师隈研吾操刀设计，以雪松木墙壁和巨大的玻璃窗为特色，提供了戏剧性的城市景观。

Designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, Takanawa Gateway station features cedar clad walls and huge glass windows providing dramatic views of the city. 

大型膜结构屋顶被安置在车站上方，并向城市延伸，将二者联系起来。折纸状的框架支撑起膜结构，框架由钢梁和日本雪松层压构件制成。木框架和白膜的组合，让人想起使用日本手工纸品的障子（shoji screens）。

A large membrane structure roof was placed over the town and station in order to provide a seamless connection between them. The membrane is supported by an Origami shaped frame that is made with steel beams and laminated Japanese cedar members. The combination of the wood frame and white membrane evokes an image of “shoji screens” in Japan that use Japanese handmade paper.

与传统车站不同，本站内部是一个明亮的、宽敞的、有着较大层高的开放空间。墙壁上木板的铺装使用了一项名为“大和貼り”的传统技术，形成不平整的表面，在人尺度上创造了温暖的空间。

Differing from conventional stations, the spaceon the inside of the station is a bright wide open space with a high ceiling. A traditional technique called “Yamato-bari” wasused for the walls in which wooden boards are applied to give the wall anuneven surface. This created a warm space on a human scale that is not found inconventional stations.

运营商预计该铁路站在开放之初每日可接待23000名乘客。随着周边商业及住宅发展项目的完成，该铁路站的每日客流量将于2024年增至123000人。

The operator envisages that the station will initially be used by 23000 passengers/day, increasing to 123000 by 2024 as the commercial and residential developments are completed.
