Designer Anna Zinkovskaya was specifically looking for an old summer cottage without renovation near Moscow – in order to surround herself with the authentic atmosphere of Soviet dachas. And surprisingly, she and her husband found a very moody 1939housewith lots of windows and the right proportions. Since it was necessary to move in very quickly, the new owners carried out a huge amount of work in an incredible three weeks: they renewed the wooden parquet floor, hung new wallpapers, changed the plumbing, and restored the doors and windows. The facade has remained almost intact – with a touch of antiquity and natural wear and tear from age. But this way the house looks even more honest, and in the updated interiors, the designer managed not to break the long-term harmony of soulfulness and comfort.
