Marissa Corvino, the founder of Corvino Design, immediately saw the potential of this house built in 1901, despite its age and disrepair. It has been partially demolished and you cannot walk through the ruins, "she recalled. The historical details were interrupted due to damage, so I decided to start over.

The residence is located in Hoboken, New Jersey, giving Corvino the opportunity to start from scratch and create a new modernist brown sandstone building for her family of five.

Firstly, she extended the floor by 20 feet; Redesign existing stairs; And together with her company, we produce customized furniture and wooden products to make use of narrow spaces. Introducing gypsum to provide warmth, natural stone is treated with MORE AntiEtch to avoid staining or etching.

Neutral tones complement deep chestnut and soft pink, creating a peaceful atmosphere. The residence references Le Corbusiers functionalism and bold sculptural details, featuring subtle arches and cozy rooms. Joseph Dirands minimalist and warm aesthetics also inspired Corvinos entire project.

I hope this space looks minimal and all of our items can be retrieved, "she said. On the living room floor, open shelves are embedded in the walls, with hidden storage space underneath. The game room is equipped with customized wooden products and a casual sofa, and there is a caster bed underneath for overnight stays. This home is designed for the daily lives of adults and children.
