山间茶室 · 疫情下的自由与边界探索丨中国厦门丨「听任」工作室

项目位于福建省厦门市同安区，紧挨着起伏的山脉。在重峦叠嶂的环拥之中，黑顶白体的小房子显现在视野里。稍加留神，就可以摸索到它调皮灵动的轮廓；天气晴朗的话，可以见到喷薄的日光透过乔木洒在屋顶，随跃动的树影几乎要一起摇摆的茶室，宛如余晖的精灵。

The project is situated in Tong'an District, Xiamen City, Fujian Province, right next to undulating mountain ranges. Amidst the embrace of rugged hills and peaks, a charming black-roofed and white-walled house comes into sight. With a keen eye, one can discern its playful and agile silhouette. On sunny days, the ceaseless sunlight filters through the towering trees, casting dancing shadows on the tea house's roof, creating a captivating spectacle reminiscent of the lingering glow of dusk.

Part1自由：在远方发一会儿呆

Part1 Freedom：Taking a brief respite in a faraway place.

2019年末，在疫情这场席卷所有人身心的黑色风暴中，设计师乔恩南开始重新思考空间、限制与自由之间的联系。作为他牵头成立的工作室，「听任」主营家具品牌及建筑设计这两个板块，试图在社会的变动与规约中，突破局限，打造一个契合人们心灵安定的所在。

At the end of 2019, amidst the dark storm of the pandemic that swept everyone's body and mind, designer Jon Nan began to rethink the connection between space, constraints, and freedom. As the founder of the studio "Listening" that focuses on furniture and architectural design, he aimed to break through limitations and create a place that resonates with people's inner peace in the face of societal changes and norms.

疫情让工作室从忙碌的都市生活中不知所措地停下，在大自然流转的四季中，能够容易地得到启示。林间簌簌飞起的小鸟，盘桓在封锁的城市和开放的山林之间。这个画面令工作室主理人想起《起风了》的创作背景，灾后废墟上的鸟，也是在残暴现实中轻盈地飞起。在疫情中无所适从的心灵，与动静相宜的鸟儿形成共鸣——是否有一个地方，能让人的心灵如小鸟一般自在，既脱离禁闭实现自由，又能不失边界地在一方空间里自得其乐？

The pandemic forced the studio to halt in the busy urban life and find inspiration in the changing seasons of nature. Birds flying through the woods, lingering between the locked-down cities and the open mountains, reminded the studio's founder of the background of "The Wind Rises," where birds took flight lightly amid the ruins of disaster. The restless souls during the pandemic found a connection with the serene birds – is there a place where one's mind can be as free as a bird, escaping confinement for freedom, yet enjoying contentment within its boundaries?

2021年，一个实验性质的建筑构想逐渐明晰地勾勒在主理人脑海。它需要完成一个关于自由、自处、自得的思想具象化表达，同时又须具有一定的商业性，可以在海边、山上、草原中，甚至是其他地方立足。该建筑的生产可批量、整体可移动、材料可组装，也为它出现在任何地方带来便捷与可能。

In 2021, a conceptual architectural experiment began to take shape in the founder's mind. It needed to embody ideas of freedom, self-containment, and contentment while also having commercial viability, allowing it to stand on the seaside, mountains, grasslands, or anywhere else. The building had to be producible in large quantities, easily movable as a whole, and made from assembly-friendly materials, providing convenience and adaptability in any location.

有天早上，玩木工坊主理人「玩木傻子」在屋顶给茶室景观浇水，一群鸟忽然扑棱棱落在周围嬉笑玩乐，清脆连绵的鸣叫不绝于耳。这份奇遇加上其本身的造型，茶室由此得名：「叽叽喳喳」。同这个建筑及周围景观乍见的宁谧桃源的观感不同，这个名字为它平添一分灵动与顽皮。

One morning, while watering the tea house garden on the roof, the owner of the woodworking workshop, known as the "Wooden Fool," was surrounded by a group of birds playfully chirping and singing, creating a continuous and melodious symphony. This delightful encounter, coupled with the tea house's unique appearance, led to its name: "Chirpy Chatters." Unlike the initial tranquil and secluded impression of the building and its surrounding landscape, this name added a touch of liveliness and playfulness to it.

Part2 自处：寻找张弛有度的自由

Part2 Solitude: Seeking a balanced freedom between relaxation and intensity.

随植被起伏拾阶而上，「叽叽喳喳」就像在枝桠间探头的小鸟。日光穿透叶间，透过宣纸制成的一个个窗棂，于茶室地板上投下如同水墨书画的即时疏影。「听任」工作室希望，来到茶室的客人，在赤脚踏上这块质感温润质朴的木地板时，可以选择开启所有的门窗，在和光的美意中席地而坐，投身外界的交流，感受移步异景的庭院意趣；也能在窗帘拉起的一瞬，于平稳可闻的呼吸中找回内心的平静。

With the vegetation undulating, ascending the steps, "Chirpy Chatters" resembles a curious little bird peeking through the branches. Sunlight filters through the leaves, casting instant dappled shadows on the tea house floor through the rice paper-made window frames, akin to an ink painting coming to life. "Listening" Studio envisions that visitors to the tea house can choose to open all the doors and windows, and sit on the warm and rustic wooden floor with bare feet, immersing themselves in the beauty of natural light. They can engage in conversations with the outside world, experiencing the courtyard's charm with every step. Alternatively, they can find inner peace in the tranquility of a moment when the curtains are drawn, savoring the soothing rhythm of their own breath.

在梦魇散尽的后疫情时代，都市生活中随处可见的规矩、效率、麻烦仍然甚嚣尘上，而未来的变数，让自由成为风中飘荡的非定义。「听任」工作室的初心，便宛如这座名为「叽叽喳喳」的茶室一样，可以随时御风飞行，随心所欲而不逾矩；如果愿意逃离尘嚣，也可以转身向旷野走去。

In the post-pandemic era, after the nightmares have dispersed, the rules, efficiency, and troubles that pervade urban life still reign supreme, and the uncertainties of the future make freedom a floating and undefined concept. The essence of "Listening" Studio lies precisely in this tea house named "Chirpy Chatters," which can soar with the wind at any moment, freely and unconstrained. If one wishes to escape the hustle and bustle, they can also turn around and head towards the wilderness.
