01 环抱 / 新旧的融合

The Embrace / Fusion of the old and the new

作为深圳主城区之一的罗湖，既沉淀着城市发展的历史脉络，又焕发着城市更新、包容、开放的活力。Aesop伊索以两层的独立形象和深圳首店的身份坐落于此，在喧闹的都市与谦逊、诚实的空间品格间，开启一场全新体验的华南之旅。玻璃幕墙之后，间隔出一定的物理距离，使室内同外部形成必要的缓冲，柔化街区的硬朗边界。

As one of the main urban areas in Shenzhen, Luohu is steeped in the history of urban development, and at the same time is full of the vitality of urban renewal, inclusiveness, and openness, Aesop is located here as a two-storey stand-alone shop and the first shop of its kind in Shenzhen, opening up a brand-new experience of a journey to South China between the hustle and bustle of the city and the humbleness and honesty of the space. Behind the glass curtain wall, the physical distance between the interior and the exterior creates a necessary buffer, softening the hard boundaries of the neighbourhood.

墙的建立象征着空间生成的开始，立面三角形的局部开口，不仅将街区的动态景观引入室内，有利于路过的行人一窥内里。原始的规整平面置入圆形的中央水槽，巨大的空间体量成为了能量的聚集中心，并以环抱之态迎接访客的到来。与此同时，圆形的路径也随之产生，分散入口的人流和方便提供一对一的服务体验。

The establishment of the wall symbolises the beginning of space generation, and the triangular-shaped partial openings on the façade not only introduce the dynamic landscape of the neighbourhood into the interior, but also facilitate pedestrians passing by to have a glimpse of the interior. By placing the original planar surface into the circular central tank, the huge volume of the space becomes a centre for gathering energy and welcoming visitors in an embracing manner. At the same time, circular pathways are created to disperse the flow of people through the entrance and facilitate a one-on-one service experience.

02 山棕榈 / 流动的记忆

Mountain Palm / Flowing Memory

空间是情绪的载体，同时具备诱发诸多场地记忆的可能。由多种地域文化共同塑造的深圳，似乎很难有着地方经验的普遍性，但山棕榈的出现，唤醒了跟随迁移的步伐而被忽略的多数人的个体记忆。通过手工的有序编织，如蓑衣般的厚度覆盖于内部立面，原始的、未经过度干预的、自然的材料赋予空间温软的氛围和被围合的亲切感。

Space is a carrier of emotions and has the potential to evoke many memories of the site. Shenzhen, shaped by a variety of regional cultures, hardly seems to have the universality of local experience, but the emergence of Mountain Palm has awakened the individual memories of the majority of people who have been neglected in the pace of migration. Through the orderly weaving of handmade straw raincoat-like thickness covering the interior façade, the raw, uninterrupted and natural materials give the space a warm and soft atmosphere and a sense of closeness.

整体协调之中，陈列产品的金属体块以功能性需求的形式内嵌，其材质的理性和工业感也隐喻着当代城市的属性。清晰界面的金属与四周柔软的纤维材质立面，构建一种新与旧、当代性与在地性的碰撞和融合。入口一隅，借助内凹的区域置入休憩区，可以小坐；而一侧的香氛衣柜不时散发出细腻的迷人香味。

Within the overall harmony, the metal blocks displaying the products are embedded in the form of functional requirements, and the rational and industrial feel of the material is a metaphor for the attributes of the contemporary city. The clear interface between the metal and the soft fibre façade around it creates a collision and fusion between the old and the new, the contemporary and the local. At the entrance, a recessed area provides a sitting area where you can sit and relax, while the scented wardrobe on one side emits a subtle and enchanting scent.

03 心境 / 静谧的一隅

State of Mind / A quiet corner

依步循级，作为连接二楼的交通动线，楼梯呼应圆形的体块旋转而上。有别于一楼的明亮，在局部点光源的渲染下，塑造出一条静谧小道，鼓励访客继续探索未知之地。正如阿纳托尔·法郎士（Anatole France）所说，“If the path be beautiful, let us not ask where it leads.”

The staircase, which connects to the first floor, rotates upwards in a circular shape, unlike the first floor, which is brightly lit. In contrast to the brightness of the ground floor, the light, rendered by localised spotlights, creates a quiet path that encourages the visitor to continue exploring unknown places. As Anatole France said, "If the path be beautiful, let us not ask where it leads."

行进的情绪由开敞、舒展、圆融转向平静、幽远、克制，而材料则由粗粝质感的肌理所替代，于一致的基调之下，二楼私密的个人化水槽区域为专属的客户提供全感官的个性化体验服务。通常而言，光之于情境的构建尤为重要，明暗之间，将既有的轮廓加以模糊、弱化，营造亲近、柔顺、放松身心的空间氛围。

04 寓意 / 自然的双关

城市本身具有难以描摹的特殊性与丰富性，尤其在深圳，天南地北的流动、汇集、融合，宏大的时代背景下，个体的记忆、直觉、想象往往被忽略，如何重拾并予以有意关照，成为空间的主要切入。而锻造的铜把手、编织的山棕榈、与肌肤相近的涂料色调，使曾经的岁月和手工的情感再现，于灯火璀璨的都市里，提供一处心灵的自然慰藉。

The city itself has a particularity and richness that is difficult to describe, especially in Shenzhen, where the flow, convergence and integration of the south and north of the country, and the individual's memory, intuition and imagination are often neglected in the grand context of the times, so how to recapture them and intentionally take care of them has become the main entry point of the space. The forged copper handles, woven mountain palms, and paint tones similar to the skin reproduce the emotions of the past years and craftsmanship, providing a natural solace for the soul in the brightly lit city.
