The plot is part of a natural forest that is invaded and overgrown with different climbers that give the garden a mysterious, fairy tale like appearance. Our advisory for the garden consists in a number of visits where we decide with the client and a local gardener which planting needs to be thinned out, cropped or where new planting is required. Step by step a garden appears with new vistas into the surrounding and towards the Hudson river. Characteristic trees and rocks will get a prominent position and add character and humor. Some areas in the garden are being detailed with special attention: Around the house we are creating a colorful frame with a systematic, linear planting that will be easy and clear to maintain. The planting consists of a broad palette of beautiful, deer-proof perennials and grasses that will provide a year-round attractive view from the porches and terraces. There will also be a beautiful new pool terrace, a sunken garden around the studio and a secret hideaway in the forest around a small pond with a bench, a rose shrub and a tall tulip tree.Team Inside Outside: Petra Blaisse, Jana Crepon with Mikel OrbegozoImages: © Inside Outside
