重塑生态历史，赋能学习的 Frisco 公共图书馆

Reimagined as a public library,  this beautiful adaptive reuse project gives new life to a structure that once manufactured both rockets and chicken nuggets. Frisco Public Library’s design celebrates the ecological history of the Blackland Prairie and facilitates dynamic, active learning that empowers its visitors and staff.To address the security and service challenges of a library with two access points, Gensler developed a parti, reminiscent of the Dogtrot-style homes customary to the Blackland Prairie in the 19th and early 20th centuries, connecting two entries with an interior breezeway. Ample sustainability measures are integrated into the library design to reduce solar impact and lower the building’s energy load. Offering ample access to the outdoors, the surrounding landscape design features native plants and includes bioswale water collection areas.
