Gensler transformed a formerly uninspired corner of the Holt Renfrew retail space into an oasis of escapism with an immersive fitting room experience that transports customers into the retailer’s world. The Studio was designed for maximum flexibility to serve as an event space for trunk shows and style seminars, as well as a neutral and interchangeable backdrop where the store’s in-house stylists can create social media content.Dramatically juxtaposed to the calm shopping lounge, a brazen corridor in Holt Renfrew’s signature magenta announces the fitting rooms. Luxe furniture vignettes invite customers to relax, setting the stage for highly personalized consultations. Enveloped in hand-painted drapery by Korean-Canadian artist Dahae Song and accented with greenery, the room creates a peaceful sense of containment and intimacy. A playful five-way illuminated mirror punctuates the end of the runway and beckons customers to ‘strike a pose!’ Adjoining doors transform the space into expansive suites, allowing for heightened social interactions between shoppers.
