Illumina’s new European HQ at Granta Park puts people and ecosystems at the helm of its innovative landscape plan. Following a successful Master Planning commission to site the HQ building, Gensler’s team designed and developed this science park campus in Cambridge. Principles of water-sensitive urban design form the basis of the landscape framework, shaping an attractive visual resource for the company’s staff. The holistic plan establishes a series of key arrival, recreational and hosting spaces for employees and visitors to enjoy while embracing the surrounding historic and scenic parkland environment. This innovative complex combines tenant wellbeing and workplace needs in an exemplary campus for the 21st century.
