Mercedes-Benz partnered with Gensler to create a new, ground-up building and workplace to support its financial services team’s growth and to further cultivate its company culture. Nestled in the landscape of Farmington Hill, the new office building’s positioning and integrated connection to nature were inspired by Mercedes-Benz’s three-pronged star logo, representing land, sea, and air. The building design leverages its grounds and existing natural surroundings as a primary amenity. This connection to nature is experienced from within the workspace through the 360-degree full-height glass exterior, and it is also captured within the fully integrated outdoor trellis that leads workers on a relaxing walking path. Inside Mercedes-Benz’s financial workplace, materials like chrome and blackened steel reflect Michigan regional influences and the brand’s luxurious and edgy design, while angular and circular motifs within the architecture bring the focus to co-working and collaboration zones designed to promote culture and community.
