This 64-unit, mixed-use boutique apartment building is located in an area known for its rich cultural, artistic and musical offerings. With Denver becoming a workforce destination, this project addresses the growing desire for more compact housing with shared amenities. MOTO’s massing relationships, gracefully aging materials and playful details evoke movement and temporality. The lobby fosters a sense of community, with communal tables and inviting seating; the pool deck encourages the mingling of public and private while maintaining a degree of privacy for residents. Outposts of a popular Denver coffee house and barber shop add to the building’s appeal and underline MOTO’s generative relationship to its surrounding neighborhood.
