Following previous successful collaborations between Gensler and Ropes & Gray, elements of commonality across multiple projects were identified, enabling the streamlining of this global law firm’s Boston headquarters. Programmed according to a 20-year projection, the 490,000-square-foot relocation incorporates modern trends into a timeless design, maximizing sunlight and views and reinforcing the firm’s image while creating measurable impact on performance. Partner-to-associate and secretary-to-attorney ratios increased to reduce overall space utilization. True to the law firm’s progressive and sustainable edge, several innovative occupancy strategies were implemented for this office, resulting in its LEED® Gold certification.
