The University of Massachusetts Club is a private social club for alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the entire UMASS system. For a strategic relocation to One Beacon Street, the Club engaged Gensler to create an active and engaging environment that would boost membership. A variety of seating arrangements are connected by transition areas, which allow for group and individual nooks for privacy. A warm and neutral palette, combined with a range of textures and materials, offers the perfect setting for a business lunch or a wedding and celebrates the spectacular city views. Designers worked closely with campus archivists to curate meaningful sets of black and white photographs that chronicle the university’s rich history and establish visual connections to the school.
